The Department of Classics is pleased to share the news that Prof. David Buchta has won the President's Award for Excellence in Faculty Governance. This award, given by Brown’s president, recognizes members of the faculty who exhibit a resolute commitment to serving Brown through faculty committee work. In Dave's case this has included work on the Committee on Academic Standing, the Search Committee for the Deputy Dean of the College for Advising, the Honorary Degrees Committee, and the Brown University Community Council. This is a richly deserved honor, and everyone in the Brown Classics community congratulates Dave on earning it this year.
