The Department of Classics is pleased to congratulate Andrew Laird, who has been honored with the Charles J. Goodwin Award of Merit for 2025 for his book, Aztec Latin: Renaissance Learning and Nahuatl Traditions in Early Colonial Mexico. This is a singular honor in which we can all take pleasure and pride. Andrew joins Amy Russell, David Konstan, and Michael Putnam, as the most recent Brown Classicist to win the Goodwin Award, which honors outstanding contributions to classical scholarship by members of the Society for Classical Studies.
